Emergency Preparedness and Fire Watch: Be sure to consult your site-specific emergency preparedness plan, as required by Section 403 of the 2024 North Carolina Fire Code. This plan outlines emergency procedures, roles, and coordination with the fire code official to ensure an effective response to emergencies. In addition, when fire protection systems — including fire suppression or detection equipment — are impaired or out of service, interim life safety measures must be implemented. As required by Section 3303.1 of Chapter 33 (Fire Safety During Construction and Demolition), fire watch procedures must be established and maintained as necessary until full fire protection is restored.
We hope everyone stays safe, and when possible, is able to enjoy some of the winter weather.
