Bethany Lykins - Board Property Nominee

Why do you want to serve on the Board?

I would like to serve on the board and help the association continue to grow and prosper. I have seen our small association truly grow and adapt over the challenges the past two years have brought and would love to help facilitate continued growth directly on the board.

What are your goals for the Association next year?

Continue to grow along with proving true value to our community by engaging more members and providing more classes and events that will benefit our members.

What is your professional background in the apartment industry?

I began my Property Management career with BSC Holdings in April of 2017. I am currently the Assistant Property Manager at Kensington Place Apartments. I have also served on the AAWNC board in both 2019 & 2020 and am currently the committee chair for PAC & Events.

Eliza King - Board Property Nominee

Why do you want to server on the Board?

I would like to serve on the board for a few reasons. First, as a member of the social media committee, I believe I can further evolve the association to reflect the ever changing industry and provide a new voice of youth to help AAWNC to grow and flourish. Second, I would love to be more involved in the industry as we navigate the changing society and growth in Western North Carolina. Third, I believe my presence on the board and social media committee can provide a fresh perspective, and I trust that my knowledge within the multi-housing industry and experience will provide additional support and strength to this every changing industry. In conclusion, I believe that my prior work with AAWNC committees and board members, my current career trajectory, and fresh, youthful perspective will bring positive growth to our association.

What are your goals for the Association next year?

My goals for the association next year would be to create a welcoming and flexible schedule for working families that would like to participate, but may feel hesitant as it is hard to navigate work and family life while wanting to be more involved with the association. I would also like to make the board a more dominant player within the Apartment Association – more engagement within the community and statewide recognition. Furthermore, my plan is to get the board involved in more charitable programs to give back to the community which we are actively involved in.

What is your professional background in the apartment industry?

In 2019, I began my career as a sales expert for Pegasus Residential at Weirbridge Village, where I performed as a top associate for two years. The beginning on 2021, I was promotion to a dual site Property Assistant Manager at 360 Hilliard and The Retreat at Hunt Hill. During this year, I have helped stabilized the community to 100% pre-leased while also expertly facilitating stabilization at 360 Hilliard, without even having opened the property for move ins. Due to my consistent performance and diligent efforts I was just promoted to Property Manager over both sites effective November 1st, 2021. I hope to continue to grow in this industry with this amazing team I have here at Pegasus, but more so I hope to share my knowledge and expertise that I have gained through my journey with other members of our association.

Brittany Hardmon - Board Supplier Nominee

Why do you want to server on the Board?

I believe that serving on the board is a great way to give back to the industry and our affiliate. In this position I will truly able to effect change and help steer the direction of our affiliate.

What are your goals for the Association next year?

Strategic Planning. Spreading the word about our industry, training the next generation of professionals (maintenance and leasing), and DE&I initiatives are my passion.

What is your professional background in the apartment industry?

I began my multifamily career onsite as a marketing manager, then transitioned into the Sales and Leasing Director role. I am now on “the dark side” as a Director of Sales with BG Multifamily. I truly enjoy changing lives by providing people with careers every day.

Brittany Hardmon is a sales and marketing ninja, relationship builder, and exceptional experience provider. Coming from a marketing background, Brittany joined the Multifamily Industry as a Marketing Manager almost six years ago. After two years of proven leasing and marketing success, Brittany was promoted to Sales and Leasing Director. Brittany’s specialty was lease-ups and underperforming properties. In addition to leasing and marketing, Brittany was able to train her fellow coworkers and leasing consultants. Training soon became another passion for Brittany. After almost four years on site Brittany moved over to the vendor side where she is currently the Greenville, SC Director of Sales with BG Multifamily. People are still her passion. In her current role, Brittany is able to provide people with jobs, train the next generation of maintenance and leasing professionals, and provide outstanding customer service to her clients. Brittany is very involved in the Upper State Apartment Association. She currently sits on the 2021 Board of Directors as well as three committees (Membership, Apartment Careers, and Communications). For her service to the Multifamily Industry Brittany was awarded the 2020 Supplier Partner of the Year Award and 2020 Volunteer of the Year. Brittany looks forward to continuing to serve the Multifamily industry for years to come.

One of my goals for next year, which is a primary objective of this association, is to continue to promote goodwill and professionalism within the apartment industry and this community. Kimberly Medearis - Board Property Nominee

I want to be a voice for members, to share my knowledge and experience in the industry and encourage others to pursue a career in multi-family industry

What are your goals for the Association next year?

Give back to our community,  promote inclusiveness and  continue to grow and be a valued resource for our association members

What is your professional background in the apartment industry?

I began my career in 2005 in leasing and have worked my way up through the ranks holding many leadership roles along the way.  Today, I manage a 296 unit community for Fogelman.  I work diligently to empower my team, cultivate their career goals and to provide exceptional customer service to the residents we serve.

My Property Management career began with Metzger & Company in Atlanta, GA in 2005 as a parttime leasing specialist. During my time with Metzger, my strength in leasing and overcoming objections was quickly recognized and a new role was developed for me as a trainer/mentor to team members in our portfolio.  I quickly began cultivating my career and served in several leadership roles over the years as my love for supporting my teams, serving people’s needs as well as my community became my passion.  I have had the good fortune to experience all aspects of Property Management including working for many great companies such as Kaplan Properties, Wesley Apartment Homes and now Fogelman, whom I have been with since 2014.    Throughout my career I have been instrumental in developing training platforms, outreach marketing programs and have participated in career fairs to bring awareness to our industry.  I have enjoyed supporting my community through volunteer work at charitable organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, The Ronald McDonald House and The Atlanta Food Bank.  My involvement with The Atlanta Apartment Association and IREM Georgia Chapter have helped me to grow my personal and professional relationships by attending monthly association meetings, continued education programs and leadership seminars.  Due to that support, my career has been very rewarding and I have received numerous accolades throughout the years including the President’s Award 2015 and The W.D. Stanly Award in 2017 & 2019.  In September 2019, I relocated from Atlanta to Asheville with Fogelman to manage Ansley at Roberts Lake Apartments. The excitement of learning a new market and building new relationships has reminded me of what I love so much about the ever changing landscape of Property Management.  I believe my core strength is to promote exceptional customer service with honesty and integrity.
