The Apartment Association of Western North Carolina is supporting the Triangle Apartment Association and their partnership with the Resident Relief Foundation (RRF) to provide emergency rental assistance for qualified renters who need help paying their rent. RRF is a 501(c)(3) California-based non-profit specializing in providing emergency rental assistance. Earlier this year they launched a $10 million fundraising drive to focus on assisting renters around the country facing financial hardship due to COVID-19.

Donations to the fundraiser are earmarked for any resident in North Carolina who qualifies. The funds will be used to help renters pay their rent to North Carolina housing providers, which supports the North Carolina rental housing community as a whole. AAWNC members are welcome to participate in the fundraising efforts and AAWNC residents are eligible to apply for the rental relief funds raised through the Resident Relief Foundation.

Two Ways AAWNC Can Participate with TAA’s Efforts

  1. Donate! Every donation is 100% tax-deductible. RRF’s co-founders cover 100% of the overhead so every cent of your donation goes to help someone or a family at risk of eviction in North Carolina. TAA is supporting RRF by matching donations made to our fundraiser up to $15,000. TAA has invited AAWNC to join in this statewide fundraiser.
  2. Spread the word! If someone who you know or one of your residents needs help paying rent, encourage them to check out RRF. Qualifications are outlined on RRF's website, here. We recommend reviewing the qualifications on their website to make sure you are receiving the most up-to-date information. AAWNC residents are eligible to apply for the rental relief funds raised through the Resident Relief Foundation Initiative.
